Education Center in the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences (Incline Village, Nevada)

Discover and explore the wonders of science at the UC Davis Thomas J. Long Foundation Education Center. Learn about Lake Tahoe, geology, environmental issues, research and watch our new 3-D movie "Lake Tahoe in Depth" (run time 15 minutes 37 seconds). The science education center is recommended for adults and families with children ages 8 and up. Follow the link for additional details.

The Education Center is open Tuesday through Friday, from 1 - 5 p.m. with special appointments available. During the peak summer months the Education Center will be open on Saturdays from 1 - 5 p.m. Volunteer docents are available for guided tours of the Education Center and TCES building, questions about exhibits, operation of 3-D Visualization Lab, and general information.

 

Laboratory in the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences (Incline Village, Nevada)

The UC Davis laboratory is located on the third floor of the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences (TCES) building. Please contact laboratory manager Anne Liston at (775) 881-7560, Ext. 7472 for additional information.

 

Tahoe City Field Lab (Tahoe City, California)

The Tahoe City Field Lab, also known as the Historic Fish Hatchery, is located just east of Tahoe City. The Eriksson Education Center offers self-guided tours available daily from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. during peak summer months (Memorial Day through Labor Day). Visitors are welcome to view the Eriksson Education Center located on the north side of the building or tour the grounds, which feature a half dozen interpretive panels among the demonstration gardens and test plots.

 

Research Vessels at Tahoe City Marina (Tahoe City, California)

Two UC Davis research vessels (R/V John LeConte and R/V Ted Frantz) are moored at the Tahoe City Marina. For on lake research requests, please contact boat captain Brant Allen at (775) 881-7560, Ext. 7465.
