The UC Davis Thomas J. Long Foundation Education Center inside the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences has something for everyone--self-guided and docent-led tours, group and student tours, hands-on activities, and a monthly lecture series.
- For families looking for fun and learning, there are lively demonstrations of the Tahoe Basin’s important ecological challenges.
- For fifth and sixth-grade school groups, there is a kid-friendly (and teacher-friendly!) science curriculum.
- For people trying to build greener homes and workplaces, there are working examples of sustainable design, construction and landscaping.
Exhibits in the UC Davis Education Center include:

- Green Building Tours and Green Points of Interest
Exhibit themes include why Lake Tahoe is unique and how science and research have been used and continue to be used to restore and protect Lake Tahoe for future generations.
Location:
The UC Davis "Thomas J. Long Foundation Education Center" (TJLFEC) is located in the main atrium area on the first floor of the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences building on the campus of Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village, Nevada. For directions click here or download the PDF.
Hours:
The Education Center is open Tuesday through Friday from 1 - 5 p.m.; and on Saturdays from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. during peak summer months (Memorial Day through Labor Day).
