Tahoe Science Center

The UC Davis Tahoe Science Center (also Thomas J. Long Foundation Education Center) located inside the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences building has something for everyone--docent-led tours, group and student tours, hands-on activities, and a monthly lecture series.
Exhibits in the UC Davis Tahoe Science Center include:

- "Shaping Watersheds" Interactive Sandbox
- Green Building Tours and Green Points of Interest (green building tours by appointment)
Exhibit themes include why Lake Tahoe is unique and how science and research have been used and continue to be used to restore and protect Lake Tahoe for future generations. Check out our Virtual Tour.
The Education Center is open Tuesday through Friday from 1 - 5 p.m. year-round; and also on peak season Saturdays from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. (from June through October). We are closed on observed holidays. We will be closed on Friday, July 4 and Saturday, July 5, 2014 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
Tours begin hourly on the hour (1, 2, 3 and 4 p.m.). Walk-in visitors are welcome or call (775) 881-7566 or email email@example.com to schedule a tour. We recommend that large groups make a reservation. Green building tours are by appointment.
The UC Davis "Thomas J. Long Foundation Science Center" is located on the first floor of the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences building on the campus of Sierra Nevada College at 291 Country Club Drive, Incline Village, Nevada. For directions click here or download the PDF.
You can easily take public transportation to the Tahoe Science Center. There is a TART bus stop near the Tahoe Center building on Country Club Drive at Mill Creek Road. Take the TART Mainline bus route to Incline and exit at the "Country Club Drive at Mill Creek Rd" bus stop above "Hyatt/Lakeshore Dr".
Visitors should park in the Visitor Parking Spaces located just inside the parking lot to the right. If there are no Visitor Parking spaces available, please obtain a temporary visitor parking pass at the Library desk or from your docent inside the science center.
