About TERC

TERC is internationally recognized for its multidisciplinary, collaborative research on lakes and their surrounding watersheds. Formed in 2004, TERC continues and expands on the work previously conducted by the Tahoe Research Group (TRG).

Mission, Goals and Objectives

The Tahoe Environmental Research Center (TERC) is dedicated to research, education and public outreach on lakes and their surrounding watersheds and airsheds. Lake ecosystems include the physical, biogeochemical and human environments, and the interactions among them. The Center is committed to providing objective scientific information for restoration and sustainable use of the Lake Tahoe Basin.

Organizational Structure

The Tahoe Environmental Research Center (TERC) is a center within the UC Davis John Muir Institute of the Environment (http://johnmuir.ucdavis.edu).

TERC History

UC Davis research at Lake Tahoe began with Dr. Charles Goldman in 1959.
